GRBC Purpose

We are a body of believers committed to worshipping and serving Jesus Christ. As the first Southern Baptist Church planted in Rhode Island (1962) we seek to spread God's gospel of grace to our community and around the world.

In order for you to understand our basic motivation as a church, we can sum it up with the axiom, Bring Him Glory. This axiom is supported by our purpose statement below.

Our purpose as a church is to bring people to salvation in Jesus Christ; but it doesn't end there. We will labor to have them join with His family, be taught to walk like Christ and be equipped for their work of service in the church. We desire to see these Christians worship God with their life and thereby be a witness to the world.

Christ reached out to people of all ages and backgrounds and at our church we desire to do the same. That is why you will discover here ministries geared to various life stages and needs. That is why we have a place for everyone to study the Scriptures, fellowship together, and minister to others through numerous service opportunities.

We want you to be a part of the blessings of God in the life of our church. We will bring you updates often on just what is happening at our church and share the stories of how Christ is making a difference in the lives of people.
